Campus Development
Significant progress was made in agricultural development on our campus, with coconut saplings planted across 178 cents of land (1 cent = 435 sq.ft). Intercropping methods were employed to optimize yields, resulting in a variety of crops, including tapioca, brinjal, banana, lemon, moringa, sweet potato, and both white and yellow pumpkin, alongside fodder for our cows.
This initiative has transformed the Illam garden into a lush green space with efficient water usage. Looking ahead, we plan to expand our agricultural efforts on Aadi 18, a Tamil auspicious day, by planting jasmine and additional vegetables such as beans, tomatoes, cluster beans, and ladies' fingers to meet the Illam's vegetable needs sustainably. We also plan to cultivate Azolla to enhance cattle milk productivity and establish a vermicompost plant using cow dung to create organic manure for our agricultural activities.
